Fruit Infused Water?

It is essentially iced water with cut fruits of your choice added in to add flavor to regular water. Common choices of fruits are sliced lemons, strawberries, cucumber, orange, and mint.

What's all the hype about it?

It is supposed to help curb cravings for soda, to be replaced as a much healthier option and is also known to aid in weight loss and cleansing/detox.

I've tried it and here's what I think...

I expected the water to taste sweet and be flavorful with all those fruits in them and yes, it is a little disappointing 'cos the water tastes quite bland with just a hint of fruitiness - although most of the time the only thing I can taste is the lemon. And, no, it has not helped me with weight loss or anything as such but I don't usually drink soda very often so it probably will make a difference for people who drink soda on a regular basis.

Try it! There's no need to buy those fancy schmancy water bottles with the filter in them. Just cut up the fruits of your choice and add them into your regular water bottle/jug. If you don't like it, then meh. But if you do, you found yourself a new alternative to regular water.

Note: if you do decide to try it with mint, be careful and add a few leaves first and then add more later if need be because the mint flavor is pretty strong when infused in water.
